Emotions

Emotions

A Poem by Fran Marie

She wrote a letter
she chose to say
farewell my love
I'm leaving today.

Our precious love cannot be
I belong to another you see
this you could not know
for, I would not let it show

Yes, this lie must now be told
I'm am married,he has the hold
and he won't set me free
I'm strangled by his chains
wrapped tight on me.

I always feel better
when I'm with you .
But i can't escape from him
What can I do?

I'll think of you
each and ev'ry day
and keep you in my heart.
and I'll return to you someway
but for my love, we have to part.

Fran, this is so heart breaking, the love is deeply felt with so many regrets that make the heart ache....You definately bring alot of emotion into this. I must enter this one myself! Thanks for sharing this!

I like the rhyming, it is really hard to find poems that rhyme and don't sound silly. Its sad too, she loves someone else but has to stay loyal to her husband. I'm sure that must be hard. This reminds me of an old fashioned poem.

Like Shrew, I can picture the poem in my head! The woman writing the farewell letter, her thoughts and feelings. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this. I like the way it ended I really felt that feeling of wanting more but to no avail. Very nicely penned. I love the picture.
