`Sullen Tears`

`Sullen Tears`

A Poem by Fran Marie

Can you feel the pain in my heart

sullen tears it bleeds 'pon my face

since the time we drifted apart

constant heartaches I can't erase

Can you sense the love I still have

 how I'm hurting being alone

thinking of good times and the bad

when I claimed your love as my own

Can you grasp the depth of my soul

its breathing out and breathing in

The core of me loses control

when stars whisper your name thru~ wind

Can you look into my sad eyes

and truly see my point of view

Often I wear a thin disguise

if you were wise, you'd see right through

Can you not know all the signs

when a woman shares her love true

'Tis feelings of the deepest kind

Now this woman's heart cries for you.

Pain and longing combine to create a symphony with words. The fact that you are an expert with formal poetry helps you to no end. I like your style very much.
You have laid words softly in this poem, and have been subtle with your statements, though not too subtle to be hard to understand, either. I would like to quote many lines in this poem. But then, I'd be forced to quote almost the entire thing!
This is a short, precise, and beautiful write. Great job!

Such a painful longing in this. It rings very sad but it is a very beautiful poem. The deep wanting and not having, the loneliness, yes, very painful.
