Alone on Valentine's Day

The wooden floor cracked as I went in
And so did my heart from deep within
What had just happened I could not believe
I was so shocked I barely could breathe
My world suddenly became sad and cold
And I was filled with a grief that couldn't be controlled
I took a glance at my old rusty clock
And towards my bed I started to walk
I placed my head on the pillow and turned off the light
I tried and I tried but I couldn't sleep that night
Oh no! How could this be?
My one true love had just forgotten me?
But the truth was there and it was there to stay
I was alone on Valentine's Day
