Last DefenseA Poem by Hailey
A brick wall built to fortify my heart and my soul. Something that can be jailed and locked away for only eyes filled with tears could see me.
My Last Defense A brick for all the times you told me about how you don't want to hurt or leave me. A brick for how you tell me that I am different. That there is something about me that pulls you back. A brick for the kisses you gave me that had no love behind them just lust. A brick for the times you apologized. Regret for leaving me behind. A brick to show how I am nothing but a girl, a girl who was an anchor and invisible. A brick for every time you have stabbed me and watched the strength bleed from my heart. A brick for every time I believed it to be love, wanted it to be. A brick for every time someone else caught your eye. Every time you left me. A brick for every painful, tearful time I moved on. Now you are back...should I add another brick?
