A Poem by Marc Hamel

In this comic section of my life

I look out on a bleaker world, a past that i'm ashamed of, and my future is uncertain

and so feared. the present has no difference from the past but to be future

as a vertex in my life, as a vortex leaching time.

looking forward, all unknown, looking back

all too familiar! but i look at my side

you are there,

always

you are there,

all too familiar you seem to fade,

i look again and see a keyhole to a dimension

of conscious thought that i had not sought, you brought to me insight

into a way of life, out of context would be blasphemy in a world of the prefixed theology.

a single leaf could save a life

when examined on the pretext of being enlightenment,

you are so much more

and if i ever forget to look

at the complexity and grace which is you,

it is only because computers from the eighties

can run more apps than my old head.
