"Through These Eyes"

"Through These Eyes"

A Poem by HeyUmmWhat
"

Sometimes u just have to see somethings from people's views. Here is mine.

"

I look up and what do I see?

Leafs changing colors,

 snow falling,

kids playing tag on the playground,

and cars going by no noticing anything changing.

When I go to sleep what do I see?

Faces of people who aren’t me,

A fairytale that could never be reality,

A cold place where I would someday be,

And death all around me.

When I look into his eyes what do I see?

His love for me and the heart he holds,

Truth that he will never hurt me,

Fear of the future and distance,

And the will to go after what he wants.

When I look in a brother’s eyes what do I see?

I see strength and courage,

Fearless yet so confused,

Disappointment,

And wisdom.

When I look at the other’s what do I see?

Fear and pain that goes one and one,

Strength that is only there when everyone is around,

How brilliant he is and the chance to become something great,

And the one I am exactly like.

When I look in my mother’s eyes what do I see?

Pain from another man that will never leave,

Real strength that no one can take,

The fear to run her own life,

And yet the one I look so much like.

When I look into my father’s eyes what do I see?

Disappointment for I am not perfect,

Anger for trying but things not working out,

The look for help but no one is there,

And the love for a women who has given up on love.

When I looked into my great grandma’s eyes what did I see?

I saw hope,

History,

Love for everything,

And yet never again will I look into her eyes.

When I look in the mirror what do I see?

So much pain and the look of being lost,

The fear to lose another I love,

The fear of change and distance,

And yet the chance to be difference.

Sometimes it takes someone to look past appearance to see the truth.

I adore this...

It's so real. The thoughts and discriptions of the eyes were very well done.

You have given me a whole new take on looking into someone else's eyes.

Well done. :]

Always,
