FLIGHT OF THE DRAGON

FLIGHT OF THE DRAGON

A Poem by Holly
"

Hmmm poetry in motion for me, but also can be considered a short story mayhap?

"
WAY UP YONDER IN THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND
A DRAGON SLEEPS THROUGH THE PASSAGE OF TIME
WAITING FOR THE ARCH ANGEL TO AWAKEN HIM
THIS DRAGON IS AS ANCIENT AS THE MOTHER EARTH
HIS NAME BE DRACONIS

WHEN HE ROAMED THE SKIES THERE WAS PEACE IN THE LAND
NOW THERE IS ONLY HATRED AND CRIME
HE WAITS IN SLUMBER
FOR THE ARCH ANGEL TO SING HIS HYMN
SO THAT ONE DAY, PEACE WILL ONCE AGAIN COME OVER THE EARTH

NOW IT IS TIME TO AWAKEN DRACONIS

THE HYMN IS SUNG WITH A SWORD IN HER HAND
IT IS A HYMN FROM THE ANCIENT DRUIDS' TIME
SHE HATH RETURNED TO AWAKEN HIM
AND SHE NOW THRUSTS THE SWORD INTO THE EARTH
IT IS TIME FOR YE TO AWAKEN, DRACONIS!

A RAY OF PURE LIGHT SPREADS ACROSS THE LAND
AS DRACONIS AWAKENS FROM HIS SLUMBER OF TIME
HE STRETCHES HIS WINGS WHILE CHANTING HIS RHYME
SOARS THROUGH THE SKY IN ANCIENT BEAUTY ABOVE THE EARTH
PEACE AND LOVE SHALL REIGN FOREVER WITH
THE FLIGHT OF THE DRAGON
DRACONIS

This can either be classified as a poem (which is how I pictured it while writing partly) or as a short story (which was yet another way I pictured it while writing)
