Forgive me son, I do not know

how to raise you right from here

I closed my eyes and listened close

and he whispered in my ear

 

Mommy please dont cry for me

wipe away your tears

you did your best, you raised me right

in only just a year

 

Forgive me son, I do not know

how to live without you here

I lost my life, when you lost yours

I've faced my biggest fear

 

Mommy I'm not very far

mommy can you see?

you'll never walk alone again

with you I'll always be

 

Forgive me son, I do not know

how to battle this war of sorrow

I feel like it's defeated me

I fight to see tomorrow

 

Mommy hold your head up high

It's ok to smile

you're stronger then you think you are

I'll see you in awhile

 

Forgive me son, I do not know

how to live without my heart

our souls are connected son

It hurts to be apart

 

Mommy from you i grew within

and that is where I'll stay

until you grow your wings with me

I'll guide you till that day

this, and several of your other poems on the same subject are amazingly sad and amazingly lucid. what do i mean by that? sometimes grief is blurred, feelings are random and confused. yours, for better or worse, seems crystal clear and focused. please accept my condolences for your loss. i can't imagine what it must be like. i hope your writing helps you, and in turn maybe helps some who will read it. you're a fine writer.
