Childhood Memories

Childhood Memories

A Poem by *~Imperfectly Me~*
"

Whether it is a cousin, a father, or a family friend this happens too frequently. This is not a subject to keep in the dark. This is a subject that should always be talked about.

"

You made me scared.

You made me feel like dirt.

At such a young age you made me want to please you.

Made me want your adoration.

"Lets play mommy and daddy" you said.

"Come on, It's just pretend"

You wanted a kiss.

A peck I gave.

Never did I think you would want more.

Never did I think you wanted tongue.

Never did I think you wanted more…

more… and more…

I said no.

I went upstairs.

I told.

No one believed me

but I stood up!

I didn't let it happen.

That was the last time you called me pretty,

the last time you were nice,

the last time you didn't call me Fat.

The last time I felt safe when you where around.

But...

I was one of the lucky ones...

Author's Note

*~Imperfectly Me~*
No child deserves these memories!

I know that this isn't the best poem. It's one of those poems that seemed to just write itself and it's the first thing I put together in quite a while.

Any comments are welcome.

There is so much pain filling your words here.. none of it you deserved.. none.. i was hurt by a family friend when young, and didnt know what to do.. So glad you found a courage to stand up.. just wish you had been believed.. Yes, others must know they can stand up too.

This made me think of my "fantastic" childhood... Stay strong. Keep writing

We are chisel off imperfect creatures but the beauty of the aftermath lies in the masterpiece in which we allow time to strenghtening to heal us we find theres nothing more worth than what you were meant to become.

these insignifigant feelings of the vesselings of children into adolescent is only the bearings ofsomething that is something strong and more beautiful than the quality of any oak wood. I can only say even after the tirbulations of my childhood that not just I but we all have to overcome-inspiried me to more beautiful and free.

in the end when we finish the battle before another one begins and this one end we just have to look at the rainbow and at the sunlight and realize even after how everything went in order to not faint or be weary WE JUST HAVE TO LET GO.

youre right no child deserves this memories but we strenghten where weary, grow and overcome.
stay beautiful baby

Unfortunately, for some familys, there's a wolf within there mist that is ready to strike when others can't detect him. You're strong for writing this and it is an important topic to bring up so bravo to you for doing so. You show the character of someone strong and willing to stand up for yourself, and that's a great quality to have. Good poem.

This is very good, the emotion and the story line are executed nicely. I like the plot of this piece a lot, I say keep with it, it has potential.

I'm glad that you stood up for you and the outcome hadn't been far worse. It seems that as time goes on, the media flashes it's lights on many such a story of the predatory type of people that reside within one's own family. It's good to write about it, on for release, but to show others that standing up to them can be and should be something that's done.

Thanks for sharing a window of your life.
