It's true what they say

It's true what they say

A Poem by IonaFaith

It's true what they say,
In the middle of the night.
I need you with me,
To let me sleep right.

The darkness she cries,
Out loud all night long.
I'll comfort her,
Though I know it's all wrong.

She talks only to me,
When no one's around.
And everyone else,
Hears nothing but sound.

So lonely are we,
Awake at this time.
So come back to me,
Oh lover of mine.

Great company am I,
For those who can't sleep.
For they never see me,
Lay here and weep.

It's true what they say,
In the middle of the night.
I need you with me,
To let me sleep right.

Author's Note

IonaFaith
This was originally written as lyrics with the first verse repeating like a chorus the whole way through but I preferred this style so I've changed it from the original. I've played around with the structure too but I may change that again because I'm not sure I like it. In short, despite it being one of my older pieces it's a work in progress.
