Old Lady Poem

Old Lady Poem

A Poem by Jimmy Greenie
"

A poem I did for English about an old woman who is homeless.

"

Her job taken away,
By one so young,
Her money lost forever,
Her poor life stung,
Out of house,
Out of home,
Out of luck,
Out of life.

Now she sits alone,
Cold and afraid,
As people walk past fast,
Too mean to stay,
Old and frail,
Old and poor,
Old and scared,
Old and lost.

She thinks she has no hope,
Nothing in her life,
She wants it all to end,
She begs for the knife,

Let her die,
Let her go,
let her live,
Let her free.

Then one happy day,
It all washed away,
Her past life may return,
Her fortune came that day,
Time to leave,
Time to sing,
Time to smile,
Time to live.

She was reunited,
With happiness she lost,
She came back to life,
Away from the frost,
Away from cold,
Away from tears,
Away from bone,
Away from death.

For she met a millionaire,
A software designer,
One who helped her live,
A cold annihalater,
Into house,
Into home,
Into luck,
Into life

it is so true that the elderly amongst us can often be made to feel neglected and alone , do we really have to dash from here to there and spare no time to even say hello . so ok , the old lady might want to chat a moment . ask how you are , she might even ask if you could help her move something she no longer has the strength to move . is it really too much to ask . i think not . the old lady could well find her millionaire in just a kind word from a friend . i do hope that after reading your poem some people determine to become that friend .

Aw, That's the feeling one gets when one outlives they're dreams.

Second chances are often few and far between. This is the story of one lucky woman who found a guardian angel. It is a very nice piece with the simple messages of kindness and hope.

This began reminding of me. My husband gone, my life so empty. In my grief, this made me feel better. Thanks for sharing.
