Auto Destruct

Auto Destruct

A Poem by Jared Payne
"

The universe tries its best to care for its elements, but utterly fails.

"
A child forged from the moon,
following behind Earths lost path.
Getting around too soon.

A child forged from the skies,
creating storms in an attempt
to keep its sun alive.

A child forged from the flames,
destroying all it tries to become close to.
Leaving no one to blame.

A son forged from the snowflakes,
alike no one, but similar to all,
it can't do anything but hopelessly fall.

This universe is ruled by chaos.
Eventually driving all elements away.
Creating a new world that's bleak and filled with grey.

I love this poem. It is one of my favorites, even though I have only read one other poem of yours. It's beautiful, but sad and heartfelt at the same time. I keep wanting to read it over and over again.
