Dad's bonding event

Dad's bonding event

A Poem by Vesica Piscis

As if we needed anymore reassurance of self worth
with our chariots and castles
fortresses we forge around our spirits
Jagged edges and razor wire to keep you all out
And we claim our selflessness in the things we provide
Like shelter and warmth in abundance mind you
Let us not forget what's at the end of the rainbow
a never ending hole that funnels through a multiverse
So be greatful
And show some respect because without us
There is no you
Please remember that
We can pretend
that this makes a difference to an outcome for you
Whilst you pretend
that this is all so important and necessary
We have overplayed the whole damn thing
Remember It's all in the best interests of young minds
To give them a fighting chance
A solid foundation
Role models who dance on strings
With no conscience awareness
Just beating our chests
Like the apes that we truely are
Dealing in rotting bananas
That we pile so high
Like it makes some sort of difference

I liked the honest tone and story told in the poetry. We need role models and people with concern for us. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
