We Are Free

We say were happy 

That this is what we want

We say that this is freedom 

That we prefer this life a lot

We say our dreams are coming true

That this is all part of the plan

We say this is the good life

That we don't need a man (woman)

Inside though, we are longing

Pained by being alone

Silently we wonder if this is how we will be known 

Will we be known as single

The independent one 

The one who they show pitty while we claim were having fun

We wonder if someone will ever come our way

That dream "one" we have in our heads

Will there ever come a day? 

Who knows

But until them this is how we will be 

Trying to keep a smile

Telling people we are free
