" Eternally Yours "

This is a love letter.. poem I wrote to my husband. I still honor it and him today. I asked if I could share it and he said yes. So here it is...

 

 

"A Love Letter"

~Eternally Yours~

 

Words are our spoken thoughts...

I share Mine with You easily...because I love You.

I never use My words carelessly..

When speaking of love or commitment.

 

I have never made a promise.. that I have broken...

I will never make a promise to You lightly..my Love.

I will keep my promises to You faithfully...

That is My Vow to You.

 

We have said great and wonderful things to each other..

You my Love...are my most precious inspiration.

My words spill forth from My soul...ignited..

When in love... Your heart touches Mine.

 

My Darling Man...I admire You...

 I will adore You till the end of Our days.

When held by You...I am safe in Your strength...

You are my resting place....I am enveloped by Your Love.

 

You are the highest pillar....that centers My world,

You are the tent... that shelters Me from life's cruel winds.

You are the gate that guards...the entrance to My heart...

Where I am willingly held Captive...I will not try to escape.

 

 I lay at your feet..all that I have and all that I am...

Because I trust You My Love.

You have beckoned Me to open My heart to You..

I have honored that request...I know You will honor Me also.

 

I will never speak to You double tongued...

But only straight and righteously.

I will never speak to You harshly or with malice,

But only with soft and loving words.

 

You are the compass in Our life's travels...

You will guide Us through Our many adventures.

You will keep Us from harms way...

 You are my Hero and my Protector.

 

I will Honor and Respect Your hard work...

I will follow Your advice when given in Love.

I know You only want what is best for Us..

I see you striving each day to be a better man.

 

 

 

I will stand beside You...through all life throws Our way.

I will be Your helpmate... in all You desire to do in life.

 

You are a Passionate and Considerate Lover...

Your loving overwhelms Me...with sweet ecstasy.

Your intimate sensuality leaves Me breathless... 

 In total pleasure of You.

 

I will do My best to be the woman You deserve,

You are a Fearless and Loyal Friend.

I want to let You know each day...

How much You are Loved and Appreciated.

 

Yes...My Love...I will Be....Eternally Yours

  You are a Man worthy of My deepest respect...

                         You are a fine...wonderful...caring  Gentleman.

This inspires two thoughts, but only one is correct...I'm not sure which. On the one hand, I wish my wife were a poetess who would write me such breathtaking words...then on the other hand, I wish that my attention to my wife would inspire great poetic work such as this. I should say that I suffer the former rather than the latter. This is love, the kind that I have always wished that I could experience. It is my lack of ever feeling this superb kind of love that I think shall keep me from writing poetry of love. This work is perfect.
