Random Scraps

A Poem by Jennesis
"

Sometimes I come across things I have hastily written down and find they seem kind of cool.

The words come in the darkness
of night
Amidst the constant hummmmm
of tires

It is my time then
When thoughts of the day
Fall away
with each passing mile

Memories of times past
or hopes of tomorrow
occupy the corners of my mind

And the beauty of the words form
without effort

For a moment, I think
Hurry Jenn, write it down
Capture the splendor

And then I move on...
To the next task

My time is brief,
yet it serves it's purpose

Because the words
Always come back
To find their way
onto the Page
That's enough for today
Another dawn awaits

Really captured my way of writing or how-to. I don't know why so many artists create their stuff rather at night than at day, this time must be somehow special. Nightly thoughts are the best.

I agree! Thanks Mimi. It's funny how the words come in the quiet. :)
You speak of something I think most poets experience. The inconvenience of inspiration... It comes when it comes and we are not always prepared to receive it. Another if only of life.
Thankfully, inspiration is a limitless well and is more dependent on our state of mind or emotion than some mystical storm of magic.
Then again, being able to just experience and not "capture" inspiration is a rare gift in and of itself...
Back to learning how to just "be". Ha. The many circles of life.
Thank you for sharing this moment of your day.

How funny, it's all connected isn't it! Capturing the 'being' today~~ Thanks David

So much time is spent driving home from XXX or YYY, the mind is able to relax and absorb the bombardment of ideas hissing through the dregs of a humdrum day. It is during these times (unless one is texting, then AAAAAAHHHHH.....never mind that.) that fertility of thought ekes out a shred of creativity. One must then sit in comfort, keyboard within reach, and translate those miles into concrete idyllic notes on the literary scale of musical thought. Your piece describes that situation with aplomb and impactful passion. Quite a nice journey I was taken on to show me the way of thought you so adroitly illustrated. Thank you for that, Jennesis. I send you friend request, don't wish to lose track of your writing...so adept! take care...dan

I like this very much because it fascinates me to see how others create.

The Beatles wrote many of their hits the same way - scraps of songs and lyrics and they would put threee or four 'supposedly' separate songs together into one - just because they kept everything like that and jotted it all down (for example on napkins and scraps of paper).
But whose to say the scraps that they wrote at different times and that they assumed were for different songs weren't always actually meant to be together from time immemorial ??
Maybe songs and words - like magnets - attract (and conversely repel) one another?

could be...has been known to be quite the glitchfest at times
Whispers of your muse are as mutable and transient as dreams. But we can take comfort in understanding that they never disappear. They simply become a more synthesized part of you, one with the whole.
They do come back, in one form or another.
All time is brief, if Time exists at all.
Excellent, I enjoyed this very very much.

Thank you so much!
even if it is in the middle of the night, it is the best time to get down the thoughts, as we do listen to those tires because if we don't, the poems will never make it out of the driveway and to the on-ramp of publication.

It's funny that the words come to me in the most inconvenient times. :) thanks Jacob
