I Live a Life of Solitude

I Live a Life of Solitude

A Poem by That1Nerd23

I live a life of solitude,
Because few will ever understand.
Many I can't trust,
Others are willing to take my hand.
But I am still done.
I am done trying to be the best me.
My heart is broken,
But let's face it, none of you truly see.
I always wear a smile,
Even when everything's falling apart.
I wear it for the hurting,
For the weary soul and dying heart.
I show kindness,
Because so many want to give in.
Listening to the media,
They look outwardly and not within.

*People like me,
Longing to give up and be done with life.
Hiding depression,
Then feeling too heavy laden with strife.
We are the broken ones.
Who battle daily with the gun and knife.

But there is hope. So please don't give in.
Take my hand and we'll be a team.
I'll stand by you if you stand my me.

You end this on an encouraging note, which is very nice. I'll include myself as being a similar person to whom you've given speech. Perhaps because injury finds us so often, we tend to stay alone.

You're never alone. Hope will always exist. :)
