cut my wrists slash my throat

take me away to paradise

where the sun dont shine

lock me away

deep in my mind

...throw away the key

leave me blind

i am my own prisoner

locked in my insanity

my days wasted away

as i search for an escape

from this nightmare

that is my mind

this twisted soul

it teases my innocence

and takes its sanity

it converts my sky

into a hazey fog

i look to the heavens above

and this is thier blessing

to be able to see the world through these eyes

but it is a curse

for it tears away all that is pure

and behind all that remains

is a husk of a broken soulless man

incapable of ever loving

until that one day

when a goddess comes down

to defy the lords

of the heavens above

she gave me love

showed me the light

taught me wrong from right

she tossed aside the darkness

cast it away

now all that is left

is me

the part that matters

the part that thrives

the part that lives

the part that loves
