Lovers End

Lovers End

A Poem by ElizaB

Sea against limbs -

I savour your eyes -

This world, how it dims,

Beneath darkening skies,

Do not forget him "

Taste his disguise,

Salt upon the tongue -

The bitterness of butterflies "

We did not stay young.

My bones become light,

A stutter of breath,

Hold me tight "

In the scent of death.

Pull me close,

Inside your skin,

A wilted rose,

Burnt petals of sin "

Do not let go,

Count with me,

As the waves flow "

A countdown to dark,

Our love, once aglow,

Bring me flowers to the park,

Remember me,

Beneath winters bark,

Remember me,

And you, once carefree.
