Lonely hours

I think many people feel this way sometimes..

Here I am lonely hours

have you missed me?

It´s been one of those days

So bitter and sour

and now I can't fall asleep

Nights like this leave me

alone with my thoughts

I don´t know what I'm feeling

I can´t connect the dots

In a room full of friends

and I feel completely alone

No one knows how my heart bends

Even if they hear the past I've known

If the past makes a person

how does that person make a future

The stitches fell from what I tried to mend

and I´m back to where I were

Here I am lonely hours

So sad and so adrift

Don´t give me time for heartache

and call it a gift

I wanted something one time

but I've forgotten what it was

I think I lost it because

No one understands me

Not me

drained of all self power

and not you

I like this poem, because I can relate to it quite a bit, esp. from the lines, "I wanted something one time
but I've forgotten what it was, I think I lost it because, No one understands me Not me"

I used to feel as you described for what seemed to be the majority of time. You captured the feeling perfectly with the lines saying: "In a room full of friends and I feel completely alone". I always feel so much better when I realize I'm not the only one.
