Edges

Edges

A Poem by JulianaSun
"

The saddest word in every story is - The End

"
The edges of words cut deeper than the sharpest of blades.
Your careless, thoughtless mouth
whispers and screams
darkness into my ears.

Darkness that slowly creeps
into my heart, tearing it asunder.

Darkness that slowly poisons
my mind, clouding its judgement.

Darkness that slowly wreathes
around my soul, smothering it with each breath.

I struggle and fight
until I crumble.
Darkness wins.
As it always does.

Defeated, I submit to its will - a quick and painless end.
No other blade shall hurt me now.

I'm not a fan of suicide poems, I suppose because I've had those thoughts myself here and there, now and again. The darkness can be overwhelming. Find your anchor. Good emotional writing.
