Sleepless Spiders

Sleepless Spiders

A Poem by Kevin

Your world is a black web
You spin and catch us like insects
The more you spin, our feelings turn to mud.

The nature of the spiders.
The hated lighting fires.
You've only seen a fragment of my mind.

Your webs are unaffected.
There is no exit path.
We pray that it isn't true.
Our nightmares are inside your dreams.
"You'll understand when I'm dead."

Only the Devil you could see.
As you were looking at me.
The spiders' webs all align.
As I live just to die!

Let's jump among the venom.
Take razor blades
To our warped smiles
Without my icy veins
There's no point for warmth at all

Your webs are unaffected.
There is no exit path.
We pray that it isn't true.
Our nightmares are inside your dreams.
"You'll understand when I'm dead."

I thought this was a very strong poem, and it was nice to something like that. I really liked these two lines "Only the Devil you could see./ As you were looking at me." I thought they really said a lot more about it.
