The Raven's Tragedy

The Raven's Tragedy

A Poem by K. Harding
"

When the Raven's dreams fade to gray, what is there left to say?

"

Bitter disappointment lay open upon a blank page

Silent broken words that will never see the light of day

The etching fumes of a poet’s clarity imbued

Adorning opiate dreams of glorious virtue

Longing for the caress of human sorrow

Desolate dreams of silver streams and winter snow

Wilted memories growing in fields of Elysian May

Where the Raven’s dreams fade to gray

Where hearts are myths held in remission

By bleeding poets enslaved by loves admission

Burning the cadence of the Nightingale’s call

Wishing for the embrace of purple waterfalls

In a tale as old as time

Was a tragedy as sweet as thine

Where a lonely lost petal of love decayed

Under the rotting beauty of your grace

adoring opiate dreams of glorious virtue- that's gold
i love the images of the Raven, the Nightingale...
purple waterfalls I don't though- too NIghtwishy for me.

I do love your stuff but it does sometimes feel like there is
a Holopainen dice that you roll- which is kinda great-i can't decide.

I like the petal at the end too.
