Can you?

Can you?

A Poem by Kaitlyn

Can you see what I feel?

Can you even begin to see the hate that I have?

Can you see what I am going through?

Can you comprehend the sorrow that is within?

Can you make me stop the cutting of my own skin?

Can you help me forget the wrong that I’ve done?

Can you stop me from loving him?

Can you lie throughout the day to make everyone think you are ok?

Can you see this pain I live with?

Can you call my name and make it all not the same?

Can you help me forget?

Can you help me get back to those days when I didn’t have to pretend?

Well I honestly want to know…

Actually I need to know…

So, can you?

You wrote about your Father but like most art that is put on public view, it becomes open to all interpretation. and as such could be a boyfriend/girlfriend

wow, I like this poem alot! I can relate to this poem. This is what I wonder when I think about my dad. I thought about asking my dad these questions but it would just make things worse. Great writing and choice of words.
