A story I wrote in remembrance of my cousin who took his own life back in 2010.

It was a warm June day 

when you left us

You decided to take the easy way

and leave us here to suffer

Tears fall down my face like rain in a thunderstorm

I'd go back and take your pain away 

Just to save you from leaving me.

You were supposed to be with me, grow with me, 

I feel you with me in every breath I take,

With every decision I make, you're thoughts are with me

Not a day goes by without your memory flooding through my mind

Though I do understand, 

you were hurting in a way no one could feel

Always had the look in your eyes,

A sad boy, with a lost mind and a broken heart

What made you so angry at the world?

Perhaps you were an old soul

Why did you leave me?

Was it your time to go...

For years to come, 

You'll be right with me, 

In a special place in my heart,

Your memories will be cherished

and I will never forget the person that was once my best friend,

big brother, 

cousin,

family...
