SlaveA Poem by RedHairedWarriorA perspective poem I wrote for fun while riding in the car...String me up in your neighborhood Hang me above the roadside Forbid your children from my contact Make me untouchable Why should I care? Why should I care if you determine my every move? If you make me your slave? If you depend on my labor for your food, laundry, entertainment? Why should I care if I am continually passed along from home to home, lent to your neighbor or sent to a far off town? taken for granted? sold as a commodity? Why should I care if the single thing I want... simply to fall to the ground and rest... Is the one thing you will never let me do?
