What Awaits in the Darkness

When you look in the Darkness, what do you see?

I see two big red eyes staring at me.

When I look closer and closer beyond the light,

I can tell that something is just not right.

As I focus and focus into the darkness, I can see something just beneath,

I see the outline of razor sharp teeth.

When it puts it's hand out into the open space,

I feel as though it is about to take my place.

My soul is slowly slipping further away,

Until My friend stopped the trance, and snapped me back into this very odd day.

So the next time you go to sleep,

Make sure you have a good night light that will help you count some sheep.
