The sorrow of life.

The sorrow of life.

A Poem by Jason

The sorrow of life burns brightest
in the defense of those that cannot defend.
I can remember the effigies
of your thoughts
burning in the dimming light of your eyes,
the ash grey glow, the expression on your face
held me, held the last words you spoke,
and they held us both in place.
The blister of bullets still rang
in our ears as we both went down.
You more than anyone
defended more than honour more than
a country’s will to stand against tyranny
while you stood at your post.
You guarded me and my back
against harm, and for that I am forever
in your debt,
forever brothers in arms we will remain,
tied and tethered to our fate
you I’m afraid were slain in the line of duty,
and nothing can be said to dignify this loss.
Remember this as you hear these words for the last time,
it was not in vain,
you will be remembered on this day.

I'm speechless for once :(. Hate , war, and violence all of the ugliest things that pollute our world. Eradicated from this world it will never be completely. It leaves it's marks on all of us in some way. Beautifully heartbreaking write Jason I loved it...
