Weak hearted

An empty heart I hold firm
Filled with grief it still pumps strong
Tired of my addictions yet still comes along
My empty heart although fragile yet never broken
Reason why I cannot relate to the rest
A weak heart paired with a Lost mind
Just like a bat I am rendered blind
So forgive me if I do not see your perspective
Believe me I try hard to listen
Yet most times it’s not effective
I blame it on my empty inexperienced heart
25 years pumping and you still learned nothing
Sometimes I wish you were torn apart
But the fear of losing you has me in cuffs
Sometimes I think you need is a partner
Maybe she could keep us warm in this cold winter
A warm heart filled with joy and perfect imperfections
Broken yet strong, Daring yet humble
And maybe then my empty heart shall be filled
And maybe then my chained mind shall be free
