An ode to pain (the song of agony)

 

Silence crawled in, light became less

To a land of no laughter, land of no grief

As joy is a gift, pain is a bless

So are denial and belief

And melancholy I do miss

 

Agony, embrace me, sweet agony

For laughter is not enough

For empty inside, is me

No hate, pain, nor love

I wish I’d drawn in my melancholy

 

Dismay, friend of our tear

Brother of our smiles

Come along with fear

Come from distant miles

For still I stand here

 

Fill me dear pain

Fill every vein

For all good became dull

For all shall go in vain

 

Ignored emotions

Forgotten heart

Careless motions

And dead is the art

 

All because of emotional intelligence

Where mind overtakes the heart

 

All becomes grey

Each day is just “a day”

Where death means end of time

And less joy is our dismay

 

Insane I might be

To write an ode to pain

To sing the song of agony

While I can be; emotions free
