Acid + Road Trip = Groovy, man.

 

Polyester pants aren't cool she said

so I slipped into jeans and threaded my hand-tooled
leather belt through the loops.  Jerry Garcia has nothing
on me.  If cool is hand-tooled then cool she will see.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lawyers aren't cool either she said

so I switched my career and sold flowers instead.
Pablo Picasso'd be real proud of these.  If flowers
are power then I aim to please.

 

 

 

 

Cadillac cars aren't cool now she said

so I bought me a Volkswagen bus with a bed.  Timothy
Leary hitched a ride to Lake Placid.  He paid for his
ride with two hits of acid.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hippie chicks aren't cool anymore I said

so I pulled out my pistol and left her for dead. 
Little dancing spoons crawled out of her skull. 
A microdot road trip is never dull.

Yikes, you remind me of a time when I went to see The Who at Lancaster University ... there was a hippy chic dancing in the empty hall before the band appeared. No one had ever heard of them then. She, the chic, even had a hippy hat on. I was wearing an electric blue shirt with a blazer with two rows of brass buttons. The hells angels used to sell acid at a grim bar in Morecambe. Many of them are dead now. No helmets. Sadly Roger Daltry's voice... But the 'orrible Who are still remembered by soccer fans who taunt the opposition with chants of 'Whooooo are YOU?' Happy days! Ach, I've just had a flashforward to some cheap retirment home on the Bulgarian coast in 30 years... I remember when...
