-Rose Garden-

-Rose Garden-

A Poem by Lacey Blood
"

My great grandmother Lena Rose passed away on Wednesday, there aren't enough words on this planet to describe the pain, nor is there enough time in existence to tell her story... She was everything.

"
We are all but flowers in the colorful garden of Rose.
A forest of Mums and baby's breath in rows.

Tall trees now stand where only seeds you had sown,
for the love you have poured is mightier than any water ever flown.

You gave us light when we felt left in the dark,
gave us the compass for any journey we embark.

Because of you our petals, colorful, never wilt.
You keep us steady when our worlds begin to tilt.

As we strongly weep, in sorrow we stand true,
Knowing all we have, is only because of you.

We mourn today our very own mother earth,
a woman, the goddess who gave us all birth.

We stand today grieving, but you can never be forgotten,
because imprinted you are, forever will be,
on all of us in your garden.
-Marsha Schunemann
The picture provided is of her and my daughter on mothers day, around 4 months after she was born.
