Empathy

Empathy

A Poem by ShooBLeeDoo

His pale white face,

And miserable eyes;

Pushed everyone away,
With this disguise.

For the rumour was' that,
He'd caught a disease;
And if you got to close,
You'd be in the same shoes,

T'was only for a stranger,
who was fearless and kind;
and approached the sick man,
And listened to his mind.

And all that was wrong,
Was the man was depressed;
And he used drink and drugs,
To deal with his stress.

So much sad, beautiful truth here. Hooray for strangers who feel the pain of others. Sometimes no more than a kind word or two can make a person want to live again. Very strong writing, my friend.
