Would you?

Would you?

A Poem by LawrenceRaybon
"

A poem that is the answer to a question: Would you sacrifice your child if God asked you to?

"
And lo a voice
comes from above,
'I demand
the one you love!'

And looking up
to heaven high,
I see nothing
but the sky.

'Give unto me
your daughter dear!
As sacrifice!
Do you hear?'

'Oh I hear you,'
I call out,
'and you can SUCK IT,'
this I shout.

'I gladly go
to burn in hell
to save my daughter,'
this I yell!

'And walking though
the gates I'll grin,
Knowing that
you didn't win!'

'I could take her
in a snap,'
declares the voice
like thunderclap.

'If you did,
or if you do,
then you'd better
take me too!'

'For ever after,
dawn to dawn,
I'll seek me out
your every pawn,

And I will take,
by word or blade,
all the followers,
you have made!'

'One by one
till none are left!
You'll feel my pain!
You'll be bereft!'

'For you to ask
this thing of me,
makes you, not Lord,
but enemy!'

'No God of mine
would be so cruel.'
'You are not God,
and I am no fool.'
