Because, I Could

Because, I Could

A Poem by Leah
"

Wrote this one last school year. Inspiration: Zorro, Mr. Darcy. Don't ask, i don't even remember.

"

Because I couldn’t tell you the truth.

Because I couldn’t lie to you.

When I tried to tell you

Everything I’ve always felt.

You glanced at me

And I felt my courage melt.

Because you loved me longer.

Because you glared at me stronger.

I couldn’t begin to tell you.

What I’ve always known to feel.

Wherever, you are with me.

Because, somehow, I know that this is real.

I knew that you’d feel the same way.

In, my head we will spend the days.

Lying next to eachother under the sun.

Because I’ve always known to be.

Because I always thought that you’ve loved me.

Could you really tell me what I’ve felt?

What I’ve felt?

Because you always told me to tell the truth.

Because of the fact that I have always, and will always, love you.

If I could tell you how I felt.

How would life be?

When I feel my courage melt.

Dream about what you could feel for me.

Because you’re happy,

                I won’t do that

                                To you.

Came across your poem and it really stood out to me. The sense of longing and desire that we may never feel. I enjoy reading your works, very well written.

I loved the repitition. It really set a tone for the poem. I love how it instantly reminded me of someone and that person stayed in my head throughout the entire poem. This is REALLY good work =]

wow this is good i like the repetitiveness of this line: "Because you always told me to tell the truth." It's imprinted in my head when i was done writing it... Good Job!
