Ode to Zilker Park

Ode to Zilker Park

A Poem by Lesley Wood
"

Sitting by the river's edge, drinking in the sun and kissing the wind...

"

Sitting by the river’s edge

Drinking in the sun

And kissing the wind

I see circling mallards

Chase each other.

Spring begins

On this day of

Clear blue skies and

Whispering winds-

Where dead growth

Makes way for rebirth.

Dancing butterflies cheer

While rain crows scream

In budding trees, and

Turtles rest baking

Under bright rays

Drinking in the sun

And kissing the wind.

Excellant! Very visual, it felt like I was there, taking it al in...
I've had many a moment like this, this time of year, and you have captured the feeling perfectly.
Nice,
peace,
