we'd said too much. if only i could

we'd said too much. if only i could

A Story by Jasmine Parker.

say.

that as we ran and our life fuelled velocity  charged us

and pushed us further into the dream

that we spent so many rainy days and lazy afternoons planning

that spelt out the story layed out before us.

say.

remembering, as the colours faded how we'd wished

we could paint with such grace and such finesse,

a wash that no hand could create, but we still wished

our ending could remain defended from the passing time.

say.

the words weren't only sounds now

an inaudible patten hovering infront of our lips

branded now unspeakable and incapable

of "saving us from ourselves"

say.

how we'd tried to change, prove that everything's not lost

and we hadn't said too much, our word count's not finished

but holding our tongues can't fix us again

and freeing us can't be perfection.

say.

our ruin was down to our fate

our ruin was out of our hands.

that someone told us "silence is a virtue".

that we hadn't wished our lives away.

This was amazing!!!!!
I really loved the last line. It really hit me.
I think this came across to me as more of a poem than a story but
it really was excellent.
