Show Me the Bright Side

I am lost in the dark molasses of sorrow

Never do I look forwards to tomorrow

The cold heat takes me away

I don’t bother to try to stay

My blindness blocks all things good

If only someone understood

Save me from this melancholy life

Before my wistfulness gets out out the knife

Could there be somewhere bright

No longer trapped in the war I fight?

I pray for a luminescent path

Maybe there I could finally laugh

In this world is there such a place

Where my past can not chase

Take me to this beautiful land

Where hate and sorrow is banned

Help me forget the tears I’ve cried

Please show me the bright side.
