All I Ever Wanted

All I ever wanted,to know a friend,
and be a friend in kind,
to know their soul inside and out,
to know their heart and mind...
All I ever wanted,was to hold you close and tight,
and to be held also,
through the darkest of the night...
All I ever wanted,to feel needed,
and need you in return,
to be wanted as I want you,
as our love does yearn...
All I ever wanted is to feel your love,as our memories fade,
make the youngsters smile,
and remember the love we made...
All I ever wanted,was to walk with you hand in hand,
into our final sunset,
on a lonely stretch of sand...
All I ever wanted,is to share a heart of true,
All I ever wanted,
is to spend the end of time with you...
