The Blues

The Blues

A Story by Long Whispers

I am attracted to melancholy and the blues. And I have a special place in my heart for the damaged souls, the quiet ones and the lost ones, those who keep it hidden deep inside, all their scars and all their tears. I have a thing to dig deeper into their souls, search all the caves of their hearts to discover what their story is. It intrigues me to hunt out what made them what they are now, and how they used to be!

Doesn't it happen with all of us in our life, a phase comes when we are at our worst, when life has just begun to show us its contrasts, when life seems too much to handle and we are too delicate to stand alone in the darkest of nights, when sadness weighs more than our body, when our soul feels trapped inside our flesh, yearning to escape, when we are getting out of our own control, when our screams are so loud yet so silent to be heard, when we are at our weakest, slowly giving up on life, when we have our wrists carved with the brightest red, constantly hiding it down our long sleeves from the prying eyes, when the end of our lips remains swollen and wounded of nervous biting, when people question us each day about the heavy bags we wear underneath eyes that twin with our deep purplish circles.

We all have been there. And some of us are still struggling to come out, while pulling a fake smile & pushing people away, pretending to be strong enough to not need anyone. However, at heart, we always want somebody to hear us, we always crave a shoulder to cry on, we always need somebody who listens to all our rants without any judgement, Don't we? To all of you striving out there, it's okay to let it out to someone who understands you, the strength lies in it. Trust me! It helps you heal. And if you feel you have no one, talk to strangers. Talk to me! I don't promise to solve it for you, but the least I can do is listen to you till you feel there's nothing left unsaid. I can tell you I made out of it and so will you!

Just hang on for a little longer..

Your writing speaks of searching the depths of our soul and trying to cope with our fears alone. The truth can be powerful and overwhelm us if we use too much self bravado.
I enjoyed your poem, your content was creative and flowed nicely. Your words stirred me as everyone of us has made that journey and more than once for most.
In admitting to our fears and accepting a degree of meekness we then make room for a Higher Power to take place in our lives.
Blessings,
Richie b.

You have explained it very well.. well done

It was very well said.. many times in life we want a listener who will listen and do nothing.. as we are capable of solving it ourself but what we want it just a couple of ears...
