Transparent

Transparent

A Poem by Emily

Tonight I sit and think about how transparent we've been this week
How I've told you that I hate that I can't have you,
How you've told me that I'm not going through this alone,
How I've spilled my emotions out on you today,
After all you asked for my transparency,
But how transparent is too transparent,
I didn't hold back with you today,
I told you exactly how my heart was feeling,
I expressed to you how much was put on my plate when my dad died.
Today I showed you my weak side,
A side that I don't like showing anyone,
Let alone showing the person I dream to be with.
I know you're here to stay and for that I'm forever grateful for.

In a relationship you show all sides of your character, the good, the bad and the plain ugly, in the knowledge that you are loved and accepted for what you are. Don't be afraid of your weaknesses, others may not see them that way. Good to read you again.
