shangri-la

a languid afternoon dallies

just long enough to find its poetry

fingers hover wistfully

circling till the right keystrokes are audaciously unclothed

a kiss blown from the upturned palm of a cagey muse

sequesters concepts

scattered like leaves in the gutter after a rainstorm

a whispered fantasy’s warm breath

gives way to frenzied utterings

and once again i’m transported to shangri-la
