Paper Moon

Paper Moon

A Poem by Manpreet

Paper Moon

Dream of this night of emotions, coyly concluded its charm

A lone dazed morning light, found its way to an open palm

Heart quivered for strength to caress, tired oozing wounds

Eyes go blank with ears struck by , sonar of crumpling Paper Moon

Journey of an endless age,  abandoned in deep- dark pain

Finding ways to clean the stain of, dried- tears fallen in vain

Willingly allow this heart to go numb , with agony of sighs

As we slither doubtfully over, all fancy wasted lies

Known is late, not to know it soon

While destiny chose its path to follow,  uneven lines of a Paper Moon

Facts in disguise wearing blood of truth,

Shamed me to get up and shine

Poison of betrayal is the same taste of,  emotion’s seasoned wine

Let silence cover its face and hide behind,  thousand shrieking drums

Aspirations run to follow again, the light of your morning sun

Don’t feed hope with silver spoon , cause it will only get you to ... "A crushed Paper Moon"
