Silip sa Panaginip (A Peek at a Dream)

Silip sa Panaginip (A Peek at a Dream)

A Poem by Mari Baptiste
"

Illustraition also done by myself

"
Shackles? Gone!
Chains? Broken!
Door to my cage?
Finally, open!

Free, I was!
Free at last!
Gone were the shadows
From my past

Outside the moon
Shone its brightest bright
Echoed by the shimmering glow of starlight

My love stood across me
He took my hand
I gave him a kiss
And away we ran

Then I awoke

The night felt dark
Shackles back on
As they were at the start

I’ll be posting the Tagalog version of this soon. Orignally planned for this to be in Tagalog but, English is my first language so my thoughts run in English first before I translate them to Filipino hence the translated title.

Powerful and worthwhile words. You are a very good writer. You made the words dance and sing to the reader. Artwork and the words are amazing. You told a story of freedom and reality in the poetry. Thank you Mari for sharing the outstanding poetry.

About
I discovered my passion for writing a little bit later compared to other writers my age. Most of them start at around 13 or 14. I only started at 17. My teachers told me that I had a knack for writing.. more..
