Schedule 12 – Section 105F Notice

I wrote this about a real notice i recived entitled Schedule 12 - Section 105F Notice

I live in South Australia. a place where a cold day is 15 C. Every year in summer temperatures of at least 40 C are reached( For those that don't know Celsius 38 C is approximately 100 F), and that's without the heat wave. For this reason every year at about this time (Middle-late spring ((Very)) early summer) a letter is sent out to every resident telling them that they must cut their lawn and that it cannot be over a specific height in this case 4 inches. This was written in one minute more of a quick scribble that I'm not particularly proud of but here it is anyway.

Schedule 12 �" Section 105F Notice

As owner of the property
Comply and read these words
For flame of fire can spread
Over grass and undergrowth
So cut it down to four inches
Within fourteen days of this notice
Or flame and fire will spread
Over town and country house

This notice sent to you
From the gilbert Valleys council
Obligations of fire and emergency
Schedule twelve
Section one zero five F

Author's Note

I hope to get my hands on a copy of the actual Letter and post a picture after blacking out things like names. unfortunately my letter is still required.

I love poetry and I love how poems can come from ANYTHING! I really do need to stay awake..
I live by C so can feel the heat..gads 48C..we rarely ever get to 43C Nice job on the poem.. write on..

Thanks for your kind words Tbear. Yeah 48 was too hot but it was a record too before that the highest temp recorded here was (if I remember correctly) 45 C over 24 years ago. we usally Hit around 43 or 44 too.

Here in our country, the normal room temperature id 37°C. So that 40°C is really hot. What I know is it happens here, too especially in the mountain/forest areas.

I mentioned in the (for lack of a better word) intro that 40 C is reached without having a heat wave... where I am reached 48 C during the heat wave last week!
