Remember them

Remember them

A Poem by Matt
"

This was written for Remembrance Day 2016!

"
Running, falling, bleeding...we will not be seen to cry

Enemies close in on us but we will not surrender...we will not comply

Many of us are younger than yourself yet we fight for our king and country

Every one i have ever loved i have lost but I refuse to lay down my rifle

Most of the soldiers that fight alongside me are barely adolescent

But they are tougher than the steel they hold in their hands

Everywhere i walk i see dismembered bodies of young and old

Red stains adorn their chests and bullets rip holes in their tattered battle dress

Take a look at the world we have given you

Hold a poppy in your hands and marvel at its beauty

Every one sold signifies your freedom

Marking our existence
