in search of light

in search of light

A Poem by Maxwell Ryder

People talk of
“the light inside”
Where is it,
I decry?

I swallow
my eye
in search
of my shine.

Was it the one
the dentist left,
by accident on,
to see my canines
and beyond?

Did the proctologist
forget to flip
the switch off,
exiting my a*s
for the night?

I’m having a gas
looking for
illuminati
occupying
my body;

I’m probing,
but remain
in the dark,
even stalking
my heart.
