Sad Love Poem

Sad Love Poem

A Poem by Michael X
"

..

"
I grew up and you moved on
but I still believe in true love.
Who was right and who was wrong?
I guess we will never know.

Some days I still think about you.
And sometimes I hear our song
and I turn up the radio.

Do you remember the last words
I spoke to you?
It's okay, I forgot too
but I still remember your words.

Sometimes I wish I could turn back
the years and the hands of time
just to hold you but this time
I'd never let you go.

I think the saddest part is the assumed mutual un-remembering of the last words shared.
The last stanza takes away from the whole write I feel though Michael. It seems as if cliche crept in but I'm thinking that it is deliberately weak to induce feelings of 'giving up' in the reader. To reinforce the 'its over and now nothing matters' feel.
A good write as per usual Michael X

I really relate to this poem. It's sad when you have to move on from someone you love

So beautifully, sorrowfully romantic

This is wonderfully penned, man.

Emotion through the seams here, you painted a vivid picture of how it is to see lost love in hindsight. This piece personally touched me as I've found myself in a very reminiscent state as of late, staring back into days and nights spent with a friend and love in unison, now long gone.

Wonderful, brother.

I find it the most comforting to know that you still believe in true love. It's always good to never give up on that, even if you feel it's faded away. Breakups aren't easy, but maybe they're meant to lead you towards better things. It could lead you to someone who will treat you the exact way you deserve. Love is always around, even in the smallest of places. It could hit you at the most unexpected times in your life...but I'm grateful to know that you still have the heart to believe that love will still exist & I hope it comes your way when you least expect it.

Hi Michael, I like this a lot the somber mood and slight vulnerability. Honest and highly relatable. Lovely easy flow. Starz
