This is a poem about a Soldier and his girlfriend

 The bullets fly overhead

My brother in arms is already dead

My only thought is of coming home to you

and all the kissing we will do

My love for you stayed at home

While the rest of me was free to roam

So here I am left alone

when where I want to be is home

 

 

My love is fear

My love is dread

In my thoughts your really dead

I don't know why I dream your death

I long to hear you call me "Your dearest Beth"

I think the loss would be be safe

I think of your death to heal myself first

my bed is cold

my bed is hard

The noise I hear has me on my guard

 In my dreams it's you coming home

But the thought of that is to much for my soul

I fall asleep dreaming of you and all the things we would do

In your arms I'd never be alone

"My dearest Beth, i'm so glad to be home"

 

 

My darling Beth I love you so

Seeing you asleep with your golden hair surrounding you like a halo

You look so perfect I don't wanna wake you

You being asleep is one of the cutest things I knew

I slide in bed beside you and join your slumber

But before I do I can't resist playing and drawing an imaginary number on your back

You stir and whisper "I love you, Jack"

"It's ok my dear I love you back"
