Eyes of us

what is it that tells us ?

To be told by our eyes

a story of truthful lies.

To see is not to speak 

but rather an expression

of what we seek.

 They have seen many 

   a thing but not a tall 

    looked upon anything.

     It really brings delight

in the iris of darkened light

          to see with out mind 

               heart and feet alike

      They are the gates to a soul

             one of many to behold

               they cast us in a sea 

                 of stars lighted up

                    by my soulless

                               heart

                We are all roots 

                   connected by

                a seed of two.

                  our history 

            has been seen 

     by many of afleet 

   but driven in vain

 by those who seek

               to gain.

This is a super quick idea i had so it is very natural not really thought out i guess you could say.

this has a sing-song quality that I love. reads effortlessly but makes you think at the same time. the kind that makes you want to go back and read over again just to dig deeper into the imagery and meaning. I enjoyed the journey of this piece. The structure of the poem even guides you through the waves. Nicely done.

Sometimes the best poetry is the ones we write with scattered thoughts and little time. Good job Finn, I particularly like the ending starting from the part about roots. That part flowed together quite naturally.
